Audrey Hepburn wearing 'Manhattan' in Breakfast at Tiffany's
Oliver Goldsmith Sunglasses
Think 20th Century icons: Grace Kelly, Peter Sellers, Michael Caine in his signature black spectacles, Audrey Hepburn in the big white glasses that framed her gorgeous face. Iconic style makers - Givenchy, Dior and Vidal Sassoon. Think cult films of the fifties and sixties, The Ipcress File, Charade and Two for the Road. They all featured Oliver Goldsmith sunglasses.
The company was relaunched in 2004 by Claire Goldsmith, great-granddaughter of the original Oliver Goldsmith. Her first collection was made up of re-editions of the family's vintage archives. And I'm sure that he would be immensely proud of Claire's endeavours. I know I am!
